The Shenandoah University Wind Ensemble’s November 2nd performance will feature pieces by acclaimed composer John Mackey in a program highlighting the composer’s electrifying compositions alongside timeless classics. The night will be filled with Fanfare for Full Fathom Five, Divine Mischief for wind ensemble and solo clarinet featuring guest soloist Garrick Zoeter (clarinet), and Places We Can No Longer Go featuring guest soloist Stephanie Higgins (soprano). The Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra (CYSO) talented young musicians showcase their extraordinary skills and create lasting memories while performing alongside the esteemed Portuguese Philharmonic in the beautiful city of Porto, Portugal. The collaborative performance will be at the historic church of Igreja São João Novo. The CYSO and the Portuguese Philharmonic will unite their instrumental prowess to deliver a powerful rendition of Haydn’s Symphony No. 104. The symphony’s dynamic melodies and intricate harmonies will come to life, bringing forth an electrifying performance.
